Background:

The man known only as Chromium is employed by Arachnus, Crowns Pointe’s reigning crimelord. Chromium is his top lieutenant and bodyguard, an enforcer and assassin who rose through the ranks under Arachnus’s tutelage and now manages the organization’s vice traffic, which ranges from illegal gambling to drug distribution. Chromium also coordinates special high-tech criminal projects for his boss.

Chromium wears thin but powerful body armor underneath fashionable and expensive clothes. An extension of that armor is the helmet he wears constantly; no one in the the organization has ever seen his face, but it is rumored to be terrifyingly disfigured. The armor was designed and built by Arachnus, further evidence that there is some debt of honor between the two men, the details of which have yet to be revealed.

Chromium, who oversees much of the city’s criminal trade, first encountered the Fly when the crimefighter cost Arachnus and his organization millions of dollars – and a great deal of prestige – by preventing Arachnus from setting up and franchising an electronics superstore that, unknown to the buying public, was actually a secret distribution point for stolen and bootleg consumer electronics. Chromium did his best to defend Arachnus’s operation from the Fly and actually physically defeated the hero; however the facility and its prototype displays were destroyed in the melee, putting an end to that particular crooked enterprise.
