Background

The woman that has come to be known as Luna was a cosmonaut onboard the International Space Station, studying an unusual series of lightwaves being received from a faraway galaxy. Paired with Aleksandr Vassiliev, the two of them were huddled together when one of the lightwaves had struck the ISS, rattling it from stem to stern… and bathing the two Russians in its unusual beam. They had been altered, something that neither had realized at first, and when they reported it back to their superiors on Earth, they had been told to keep it from the other scientists onboard the ISS. They were replaced and brought back to Earth as soon as possible, where it was discovered that they were now superhumans. Polina was now able to tap into gravitational forces — while at present, she primarily uses them to increase or decrease gravitational effects on her foes or their surroundings, Russian scientists think that she may be capable of far more with practice and experience. As Luna, she was brought into the Russian government’s superhuman task force, The Assembly. Unlike Alexksandr, who had adopted the identity of Kosmos, Luna was suspicious from the beginning of Koschei’s motives. Once Koschei was defeated, Luna chose to remain with The Assembly and she hopes that they can become the sorts of heroes that her homeland deserves.
