I do occasionally dabble in poetry… but I rarely share it because, to be honest, I consider most of it to be insipid. But I let someone read this today and they expressed that they enjoyed it so… here ya go. Maybe I’ll post some more poems sometime.
Borrowed Rose
She danced like the truth in a cheap neon bar,
Called me her moon while she chased every star.
I built her a kingdom from promises and smoke,
She smiled when she lied and laughed when I broke.
Now I sit with the ghosts and the tabs I still owe,
Replaying old nights like a worn-out radio.
Turns out I was never the man she chose—
Just the fool holding flowers while she borrowed my rose.
