Background:

Cyrus Vale, the director of a black ops government agency called Project: Umbra, managed to collect DNA from several members of the Dark Society – and using a mixture of technology and the occult, Vale grew twisted copies of the heroes. In the case of Teleplasm, she was grown from a bit of Chimera’s ectoplasm that was left behind after a battle. As such, her body is relatively unstable and without regular infusions of life energy she will begin to degrade into ectoplasmic sludge. She will usually suck out the life form in the form of ectoplasmic energy from those that are about to die, replenishing her personal storehouse. She absolutely hates Chimera, whom she sees as ‘real’ but unappreciative of all that she has. When the Obsidian Circle went to war with the Dark Society, Teleplasm was exposed to the philosophy of the Lachryma Christi cult — they preached that the default state of existence was one of suffering. Teleplasm has adopted that philosophy as her own. She uses her powers far more aggressively than Chimera does, preferring to ruthlessly slay her enemies.
