Background:
The Absolute Wonder Woman is a unique version of Diana of Themyscira hailing from the “Absolute Universe,” a different, darker world within DC Comics. Unlike the traditional Wonder Woman who was raised on the paradise island of Themyscira, this Diana faced exile to the underworld as a baby and was raised by her mother’s enemy, the sorceress Circe. This harsh upbringing, filled with danger and magic, didn’t break her but instead made her stronger, shaping her into a formidable weapon.
Having been denied her Amazonian heritage for so long, the Absolute Wonder Woman’s story centers on her return to the surface world and her journey to discover her place in it. Armed with weapons forged in Hell, she embarks on a mission focused more on justice than peace. Her experience in the underworld, befriending even the deadliest monsters, suggests a complex character with a unique perspective on good and evil. She is also referred to as “the Absolute Amazon” due to her upbringing outside of Themyscira.
