Background

Failsafe is an android created and programmed by the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh to hunt Batman if he ever crossed the line and became a murderer. It is made up of a variety of robotics, including Amazo tech. Its creator designed Failsafe to know Batman’s plans and moves, as well as to be stronger and faster than him. Failsafe is also equipped to combat every member of the Justice League. However, despite his deadly functionalities, it is not designed to kill.

Failsafe is an endgame-level antagonist, capable of dismantling the Justice League through raw power, strategy, and tactical perfection. While its greatest weakness is its single-minded programming, it is one of the most dangerous threats Batman has ever created.

Failsafe was created by Chip Zdarsky and Jorge Jiménez, first appearing in Batman (Volume 3) #125 (2022).
