Background

Not long after the first modern superheroes debuted, Caitlin was a young but brilliant scientist working for the Advanced Prosthetic Research Center, an airborne research facility building experimental cybernetic prosthetics. Unfortunately for Caitlin, the facility was also researching an advanced alien android known as Spartan.

Spartan was remotely hijacked by Kaizen Gamorra, and in the process, most of the facility’s staff, including Caitlin, were killed and infected with Spartan-controlled cybernetics. The cyborg monster that was once Caitlin then killed her own father before being put down by Slade Wilson.

Much later, a clone of Fairchild was created by N.O.W.H.E.R.E..

She was responsible for bringing Superboy to maturation as well as his emotional and psychological conditioning. She always attempted to research a genetic manipulation that transformed her and 12 others, as well as a way to reverse the mutation, all while keeping her metahuman ability to increase her mass and strength a secret. During this time, she was active as a member of the Ravagers.

Once she arrived at the Colony, Fairchild helped liberate the young metahuman captives from N.O.W.H.E.R.E.’s high security prison and lab. She sent them in several different escape pods away from the Colony, arriving at locations around the world. Along with several Colony refugees, she herself escaped to Alaska. While she attempted to organize the refugees into a singular force, several quickly deserted her. With a small handful of refugees, she now attempts to escape the attention of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. agents, such as Warblade and former friend Rose Wilson.

At some point, this Caitlin clone encountered a safehouse in Los Angeles containing many other clones of herself. Several of them ended up destroyed.

At an unspecified point one of the Caitlin clones (apparently a younger one) joined the WildC.A.T.s. and came to Grifter’s rescue with the rest of the team after he had obtained Batman’s files from Wayne Enterprises.

She later joined Grifter, Zealot and Deathblow in a mission but it turned south after they got overwhelmed and Deathblow got killed forcing her to use her powers to open a way out before passing out from the strain. But as they were to escape Green Arrow showed on the scene and attacked Grifter, forcing Fairchild to once again transform to collapse the floor in an effort to escape.

Caitlin appears to be significantly younger than she was when she accompanied the Ravagers- it is unknown if she was de-aged by unknown means or if the Caitlin allied with the WildC.A.T.S. is another clone of the original.
