BACKGROUND: Chaska is a Sioux warrior who found himself wandering into a temporal rift while exploring the Black Hills. Ending up in a place outside of normal space and time known as the Eternal Expanse, Chaska spent months, if not years (time flows strangely in the Expanse) exploring the dimension. He became adept at hunting dinosaurs, avoiding detection by foes with superior technology, and surreptitiously fighting against the forces of the land’s evil Matriarch. He created a bow and powerful arrows from technology that he scavenged, making him an even more dangerous fighter than before.
Eventually, he befriended a Zulu fighter that had claimed the Hell-forged armor of the dead hero Babylon. He and his new ally became the leaders of a growing rebel movement against the Matriarch and along the way the two became guardians of a young girl with the uncanny ability to find weaknesses in enemies and objects. The three of them — Chaska, Ogun (aka Zungu), and Magna — became allies of the Dark Society when the hero team found themselves in the Expanse. When the Matriarch was defeated, the trio were invited to return to earth as members of the Society but they chose to remain in the Expanse, at least until the new government was on secure footing. Brave and a natural leader, Chaska is an honorable man that others flock to for guidance.
