The past couple of months have been incredibly productive from a writing standpoint. Since November 1, I have completed Dark Society volume 7, written Lazarus Gray volume 16, and written Dark Society volume 8. I’ve always been prolific but writing two whole novels in slightly over two months is a record for me. I know that it’s been frustrating for some of you to know that I’m writing so far ahead of publication (after all, Dark Society volume one isn’t even out yet…) but there have been a lot of reasons behind a slow-down at Pro Se in terms of production. Hopefully things will pick up in 2025 and we’ll get all caught up. In the meantime, I’m kind of in flux — it feels weird to not be currently working on anything but at the same time, I don’t really want to get even further ahead. Right now, Pro Se has two Lazarus Gray books, eight Dark Societies, two Straw-Mans, a collection of short stories, and a novel entitled Omnium Gatherum all in hand from me. And that’s not mentioning various short stories that I’ve turned in for anthologies that have yet to be released. So I’m considering doing a few different things — maybe pitching for something at another publisher or maybe even serializing a new, original story right here on the blog. We’ll see. It’s the start of a whole new year so we’ll have to see what kinds of trouble we can get into, right?
