Lazarus Talk

I should be finished with the Lazarus Gray story I’ve been writing in a day or so. This one will see print first in an issue of Pro Se’s pulp magazine (along with a Black Terror tale) before eventually being reprinted in Volume Three of the Lazarus Gray series. I think this one is an interesting tale but it’s not among my favorites. That doesn’t mean it’s bad at all — if it was, I’d scrap it — but simply that it doesn’t feel as “close to perfect” as some of the other Lazarus stories I’ve done. I’ll keep tweaking it.

When I get to the second story in what will be volume three… I have some very interesting plans. Yes, indeed. Of course, I can’t tell you about them yet. 🙂

In related news, Pro Se is still planning to release Volume One in the Lazarus Gray series later this month. Stay tuned!

Timeline Talk

Over at my official Facebook Fan Page, I have a timeline for my “Reese Unlimited” Universe — basically, the shared world that almost all my characters inhabit. Characters like The Rook, Lazarus Gray, Violet Cambridge, Eobard Grace and many more exist within the same framework and I created this timeline to keep things straight. Feel free to go check it out — but be warned! There are SPOILERS included… so if you haven’t read everything or if you’re the sort who likes to keep surprises for later, you might want to proceed with caution. You can access the timeline here. It’s updated all the time but this version is current as of 9/15/11.

Table Talk & Book Cave

So last night I was a guest on The Book Cave and we talked about The Rook, Lazarus Gray and a lot more. A major announcement was also made about my future association with Pro Se Productions but I’ll make you all wait to hear it on the podcast first. As soon it’s posted, I’ll give a link — should be soon, though. As always, it’s a blast to talk with Ric and Art — and we got in a lot of good Sun Koh conversation with Art, which is always fun.

Also, Bobby Nash, Mike Bullock and I talk about updating classic pulp characters in today’s  Table Talk. Go and give it a read!

Heading Back Into the Book Cave

I’ll be a guest tonight on The Book Cave Podcast. I’ll be joined by Pro Se publisher Tommy Hancock, as we chat with Ric and Art about The Rook Volume Six. I’m sure the conversation will expand to other topics, as well. I’ll post a link to the download site as soon as it’s live!

Weekly Sales Check

It’s Monday — so what’s moving and shaking over at Let’s find out!

The five bestselling Barry Reese titles are:

2) The Rook Volume Six

3) How the West Was Weird, Volume Two

4) Marvel Comics Legacy: The 1960s-1990s Handbook

5) The Rook Volume Five

Not much movement from last week, really. A nice mix of work I’ve done over the years, though.
