Dynamite’s Shadow Solicitations for November 2013

3242821-26+shadow20-cov-bolsonAs a big fan of The Shadow, I’m buying all of the comics coming from Dynamite. Sometime next week I’ll be posting episodes 49 and 50 of The Shadow Fan’s Podcast – 49 will feature a trio of comics reviews and 50 will be an interview with the legendary Michael Uslan! I hope you’ll enjoy both.

A Tough Decision… Plus: Dynamite’s Pulp Comics for June 2013

masks08_cov_rossI almost committed myself to a major undertaking. It had gotten so far that I’d created a blog for it and even scheduled the first four posts… but then I came to my senses last night. While it’s good to do things for the benefit of the New Pulp community, ultimately I’m just one person… and I have my own writing & imprint to focus on. While I hope that someone else will step forward to save the day and keep this project going, I can’t let that force me into doing something that would result in a whole of work on my behalf without any real payoff other than some vague sense of ‘doing good.’ I did the New Pulp Bestsellers List for several years and it was a lot of work — I put in my time for the good of the community, I think.

And, yes, I know that’s all very vague, isn’t it?

In happier news, I came up with the germ of an idea for the Weird West story I’m writing for Mechanoid Press and have started that. Another new character to play with! Always fun. I’ll have to avoid the temptation to start another series, though. I have enough of those! 🙂

Anyway, let’s move on!

Since Dynamite is publishing The Shadow and its related comics, I’ve been reading quite a few of their books lately. Their pulp line keeps expanding and I’ll soon be trying The Black Bat & Miss Fury, in addition to Masks, The Shadow and The Shadow: Year One. I figured I’d post all their pulp related solicitations for June 2013 here since I usually end up talking about some of them on The Shadow Fan Podcast.
