The past few weeks, I’ve been working on a Snow Leopard story for my Skip Timeline anthology — a plethora of other talented folks are contributing stories for the rest of the cast. To be honest, Kavya would have been my last choice for which character I wanted to write but I wanted to let the other guys have first pick… but after writing nearly 12,000 words with her, I have to say that I enjoyed it much more than I expected to. I think I kind of channeled a little bit of the Gerry Conway Spider-Man and mixed it up with my own personal style. In the end, the story not only introduced Snow Leopard and a villain known as Raptor but also a young lady named Augur that will be crucial to the next stage of the univere’s development.
With this one being finished, we’ve got three of the five stories turned in and I expect to get the other two by early January. Then it’s just a matter of getting it onto the Pro Se publishing schedule, getting a cover, having it edited and formatted — all that back-end business that’s not always sexy but is a major part of putting out a quality product.
