Saturday Matinee: Wonder Woman

wonder-woman-lynda-carterEvery Saturday I find a movie or clip that I think will appeal to the fans of this blog. Since most of you enjoy action/adventure, I tend to focus on something that falls into that category. This week we’re looking at: Wonder Woman! That’s right, the Amazon Princess from DC Comics. Wonder Woman  has been on television screens quite a bit over the years but we’re still waiting on her big-budget film debut. Here’s a few clips to showcase WW’s screen history.

First, you have to talk about the Lynda Carter television series. Not only is it arguably the most memorable of her television appearances but it also firmly placed Lynda Carter into the feverish fantasies of many a young man. This video takes many clips from the television show and strings them together. Cute and fun, like the show itself:

Many people are unaware of the failed 1967 attempt to launch a Wonder Woman series. After watching this clip, you’ll probably agree with me that it’s a good thing that it didn’t get off the ground:

Shortfall Films has gotten a lot of attention for this fan-made short film that shows how a Wonder Woman movie could look. I like it a lot!

Wonder Woman also starred in her own direct-to-dvd animated movie. Here’s a clip:
