I’m having a low-energy morning but I’ll need to turn that around because I have a lot of stuff to do. I’m co-chairing the 2013 Georgia Literary Festival and I have a lot of letters to send out… then, of course, there’s all the writing I need to do, plus my day job! Add to that the fact that my son started first grade today and I have a very full plate.
I watched the big unveiling ceremony for the new Doctor Who and I have to say that I was very happy with the choice of Peter Capaldi. I thought it was the perfect time to go older in terms of the casting and I think that Capaldi’s acting chops will hopefully carry the Doctor into some exciting territory. Now, I really wish that we’d gotten a different show-runner at the same time as I haven’t enjoyed Steven Moffat’s tenure at the top all that much – which is kind of strange, given that I felt his stories were the best ones from the Russell T. Davies’ period. Anyway, I’m really excited to see where we go with Capaldi and I’m genuinely excited to see his time on the show begin. My favorite Doctors, by the way, are David Tennant and Tom Baker.
Broke down and gave in to the Muse yesterday, writing a good bit on the first chapter of a new Lazarus Gray story. I can’t focus on that right now, though, as I have other projects with deadlines that are forcing me to pay attention to them… but man, it was fun. Can’t wait to have a chance to put this tale front-and-center in my mind.
Loads of downloads for the free copy of Lazarus Gray’s first volume a couple of weeks back but I haven’t seen any new reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, etc. C’mon, folks, even if you hated it — post a review! You did get it for free, for heaven’s sakes. 😉
Anyway, I better get to work. I’ll be back tomorrow with another long-awaited installment of Characters I Love! See you then.
