Flash_Gordon_cardEvery Saturday I find a movie or clip that I think will appeal to the fans of this blog. Since most of you enjoy action/adventure, I tend to focus on something that falls into that category. This week we’re looking at the many incarnations of Flash Gordon. The beloved sci-fi hero has been translated into other media on numerous occasions but I’m hitting some of the bigger ones today — I’ll leave it up to you to determine if the translation attempts were successful or not.

First up, we have chapter one of the 1936 movie serial starring Buster Crabbe:

Next we have the trailer for the 1980 version – most famous, perhaps, for its Queen soundtrack:

Up next is Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All, which was made in 1979 but not released until 1982. Here’s one section of the animated film:
