The Rook Volume Two Special Edition has only been available for a few weeks but I hope you’ve already gotten your copy — with a new cover and six interior pieces of art from George Sellas, the the book has also been completely re-edited and given a lovely facelift by the talented folks at Pro Se Press!
The series will continue until all of the old Rook volumes are back in print and work has already begun on Volume Three! I figured I’d share with you the cover to that volume, which probably will be out before the end of 2013 (if not, definitely first quarter 2014). It’s my favorite cover of the series so far and I love how George features The Rook in such a dramatic pose, while four of his most evil villains (all of whom are showcased in this volume) loom over him in the background. Exciting stuff!
Volume Three is one of the best in the series, I think, and it features a really wide range of adventures. Given the flourish that George adds to the package, along with the formatting touches of Sean Ali, I think the Special Editions are some of the best-looking books in the New Pulp field.
Feel free to ooh and ahh over this cover – I certainly did!
